26 words - One child learning who they already are.
Most alphabet cards teach A for Apple. This one teaches A for Abundant.
Creating Me: A to Z is a 26-card vocabulary and affirmation deck, paired with a companion activity journal, designed for children ages 4 to 10. Each card takes one word - Kind, Grateful, Creative, Patient - and turns it into something a child can understand, say, and become.
This deck teaches children how to recognise their emotions. Knowing what an emotion is called helps a child deal with and experience that emotion better.
The words a child says and hears around them shapes the way they look at themselves. Self-talk isn’t just a soft skill; it's the foundation everything about your child gets built on. Creating Me: A to Z is the first step towards giving them that unwavering foundation that will las a lifetime.
How It Works
Every card holds three layers:
- A definition: written for how a child actually experiences the word - not a dictionary line, but a meaning that feels like a moment they see everyday.
- An affirmation: one sentence your child speaks out loud, again and again, until it becomes a part of their DNA.
- An activity: that gets the word off the card and into their hands and their day.
The companion journal isn't a workbook. There's nothing to get right. It's a space where your child explores what "grateful" looks like to them, or writes about the day they felt "patient" building a visual record of how they see themselves.
Why This Matters
Every part of this deck is built on one core idea: the way a child learns to talk to themselves is the way they'll think about themselves for the rest of their life.
1. They build emotional literacy - the ability to name what they feel, which research links to lower anxiety, better behavior, and stronger confidence in new situations.
2. They form a stronger sense of self early on - the ages this deck is built for are when a child's self-concept is first taking shape. What gets planted now is far easier to grow than to fix later.
3. They learn that words build reality, not just describe it - a child who has "secure" or "joyful" in their vocabulary reaches for those words on the hard days, instead of reaching for silence or shame.
4. They learn through play, not instruction - no right answers, no grading, no pressure. Just a card, a word, and a child figuring out what it means to them.
What It Looks Like, Day to Day
Five minutes before school - a word and an affirmation said together. Evenings with your child explaining that they witnessed “empathy” because now they know how to recognise it. Over time, it becomes a shared language between you and your child - a way of noticing and acknowledging each other’s feelings, especially theirs.
